Voluntary Pre Kindergarten

Program Overview

Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Program is designed to prepare four-year-olds for kindergarten and build the foundation for their educational success. All children who turn 4-years-old on or before September 1st and reside in Florida are eligible to attend a VPK program. Parents must provide proof of the child’s age and residency during registration.  The program helps to ensure that all children are intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially ready to enter school and ready to learn, fully recognizing the crucial role of parents as their child’s first teacher.


FREE for all 4-year-olds in Florida!


  • No registration fees if child is only 9-12PM
  • Parents choose where their child learns
  • Focused on reading, writing and social skills
  • Class size : 20 children
  • Instructors must have a minimum of a CDA
  • 540 instructional hours, average 3-6 hours per day. Before and after care is available.




  1. Establish a login and account for your child.
  2. View the Parent Handbook and Parent Guidefor information on the VPK program.
  3. Complete application information about yourself and your child.
  4. Upload and submit the required documents electronically including; a photo id, proof of Florida residency and proof of your child’s age.


Note: these documents must be uploaded as separate documents. Do not group all items into one file.

Once the application is reviewed, you will receive an email notification within 10 business days of submission



NOTE:  You may want to check your spam filters to ensure the email was received.

After your VPK application is approved, you will need to log back into your account. It will contain a link in which you can retrieve and print your certificate. The Certificate of Eligibility is your “ticket” to the VPK program of your choice.

Submit the Certificate of Eligibility to your VPK provider during enrollment.
